What are the check-in and check-out times for accommodations and pitches?

  • Accommodations: Check-in from 15:00; check-out before 10:00.
  • Pitches: Check-in from 2:00 p.m.; check-out by 11:00 a.m.

Are pets allowed at the park?

Yes, pets are allowed in specific accommodations and on pitches. Please check with the front desk if your desired accommodation is pet-friendly.

What facilities are there for children?

The park has several child-friendly facilities, including:

  • 'Jonas and the Whale' water and play paradise with swimming pool and play equipment.
  • Playgrounds and a petting zoo.
  • An animation team that organizes activities during the season.
  • Multi-purpose sports fields
  • Interactive Hit Arena

Is WiFi available at the park?

Yes, WiFi is available. Upon arrival, you will receive a code for access. Please note that due to its location in the outlying area, speed may be limited, especially during busy periods.

What are the opening hours of the reception and other facilities?

Opening hours vary by season and facility. For the most up-to-date information, check the website or contact the front desk.

Are there any restaurants or eateries at the park?

Yes, there are several dining options, including a restaurant, snack bar and pizza joint. Is the weather nice? Then take a seat on the terrace; there you can have a beautiful view of the Bergumermeer.

Is the park suitable for the disabled?

Yes, there are adapted accommodations and facilities for the disabled.

How can I make a reservation or contact you for more information?

You can make a reservation through the website or contact reception by phone at 0511 46 13 85. For general questions, you can also send an e-mail to info@bergumermeer.nl.

I would like to send a card, where is the mailbox?

There is no mailbox on the park. You can drop off your mail at the reception. The employees will give the mail to the letter carrier.

Can I have mail and packages delivered to the park during my stay?

Yes, you can have mail and packages delivered. These will be delivered to the reception desk. The delivery of mail and packages is your own responsibility. Make sure your mail or package is marked with your last name and location in the park. We are not responsible for accepting or storing your packages. Packages must be picked up within one day.

Are we allowed to have visitors at the park?

Visitors are permitted and must report to reception. The visitor fee is €2.00 (excluding access to facilities) per person. 

Facilities

Does the campsite have facilities for disabled guests?

Yes, we have disabled toilets and showers in the toilet blocks De Fuik and De Tjalk. The restaurant has a lift at the rear entrance of the building. This takes you to our terrace, restaurant, and snack bar/pizza corner. 

Is the reception open daily?

During the camping season, the reception is open daily. Outside the season, it is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For current opening hours, please visit our website or click on: Opening hours.

Is there a laundromat available?

The campsite has a laundrette. It is located in the sanitary building: De Fuik. You can pay for the washing machines via the tablet, then set the washing machine. Soap is added automatically by the washing machines. This also applies to the tumble dryers, which also work via the tablet.

I am not staying at the campsite, but may I still use all the facilities?

Yes, this is allowed. Our Klein Zwitserland day recreation beach is open to people from the surrounding area. During the summer season, it is open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Our water and play paradise is also open to guests outside the holiday park. Is there a supermarket at the campsite?

We have a campsite shop at our park. You will find it next to our reception. The campsite shop has a suitable range of food products, including freshly baked bread rolls, everyday groceries, and a small selection of non-food items.

Is there WiFi at the campsite?

Yes, there is WiFi at the campsite. However, our WiFi network is not suitable for downloading movies or watching HD live streams.

Can I rent an (electric) bicycle?

Yes, you can rent (electric) bicycles at the reception desk. You can rent a bicycle for one or more days at the reception desk or online. Or click on: Bicycle rental

Am I permitted to paddleboard on the Bergumermeer lake?

Yes, this is possible behind the buoy line on the Bergumermeer.

When is entertainment provided?

We offer entertainment during the May holidays, Ascension Day and Pentecost weekends, and eight weeks during the summer holidays. 

What is the temperature of the indoor pools?

Both the water playground and the large pool are heated to a minimum of 30.5 degrees Celsius. 

Reservations

How do I pay for my vacation?

After booking your vacation at Bergumermeer vacation park, you will receive a reservation confirmation. This confirmation will include the total price of the reservation and the exact payment terms. 

Payment terms 2026
The first payment term (50%) is due within 14 days of booking and the second term (the remaining 50%) is due 6 weeks before arrival. For bookings made within 4 weeks of arrival, full payment is due in one term on the day of booking. 

Forgot to pay?
Please contact the reception as soon as possible. After exceeding these payment terms, you will receive a reminder and possibly a warning.

Do you accept discount cards?

We do not accept discount cards.

Do you have seasonal spots available?

Yes, we still have a few seasonal pitches available. For more information and availability, please contact reception. 

How can I see which camping pitches and accommodations are still available at the campsite?

You can check availability at https://www.bergumermeer.nl/search-and-book. To do so, click on the ‘book your stay’ button. Here you can filter by type of stay, dates of stay, and number of people. If you are unable to check availability online, please feel free to contact our reception desk.

I made a booking but haven't received a reservation confirmation yet. What should I do?

After booking online, you will receive a provisional confirmation. Within five working days, you will receive the final reservation confirmation with the payment terms. Have you made a reservation but not yet received a reservation confirmation? Please feel free to contact us. You can do so by telephone (+31 (0)511-461385) or by email at info@bergumermeer.nl. .

Can I reserve a camping spot or accommodation?

Yes, it is possible to place an option for bookings. You can only place an option on a camping pitch or accommodation by telephone for a maximum of 5 days. You must contact us before the expiry date to let us know whether your option can be made definitive or will lapse.    

Can I make a preferred booking for my camping spot or accommodation?

Yes, you can. When booking online, you can make a preferred booking yourself using the floor plan.
However, additional costs will be charged for this. 

May I invite a guest to stay with me during my stay at the campsite?

Guests are welcome, provided that the total number of people, including guests, does not exceed the maximum of 6 people per camping pitch. The total number of people, including guests, per accommodation may not exceed the maximum permitted number. The rate for guests is €12.50 per person per night, which includes access to the facilities. The main booker is required to register guests who are staying overnight at the reception desk.

Accommodations

Can I still use the facilities all day on my departure day?

If you have booked accommodation with us, you can use our facilities throughout the day on your departure date. We kindly request that you park your car outside the holiday park after the official check-out time.

Are pets allowed in the accommodations?

Dogs are allowed in a number of accommodations. When booking online, you can add pets and the accommodations where dogs are allowed will be displayed. Cats are not allowed at the holiday park. 

May I place a small tent or party tent next to my accommodation?

An additional tent may only be placed in consultation with reception. A party tent is not a problem, provided it does not cause any nuisance to the neighbors. 

Camping

How big is my camping pitch?

All (Premium/beach) and comfort pitches are on average 80-100m² per camping pitch.

How can I set up my television?

Our television provider is Ziggo. To set up the television without a smart card, use frequency: 306,000 and Network ID: 5555. With a smart card, use frequency: 306,000 and Network ID: 5555.

How many amps of electricity do the camping pitches have?

All premium/beach-comfort pitches have 10 amp electricity. 

Is there a freezer for cooling elements?

Yes, you can have these frozen at our campsite shop.

May I barbecue at the campsite?

Yes, provided you have fire extinguishing agents such as sand or water at hand. Barbecuing is not permitted during extreme weather conditions (storms or drought).

May I set up a small tent next to my camping spot?

Yes, that is allowed. One small additional tent is included. An additional fee applies for a second tent. A maximum of two small additional tents may be placed per camping pitch. 

May I enter your premises with a camper?

Yes, this is permitted provided that your motorhome is no longer than 9 meters and/or weighs no more than 4 tons. At certain locations, we may make an exception to this rule, but only after consultation by telephone.
Bookings can only be made by telephone. 

What kind of material can I put under my awning?

A perforated rubber mat is permitted under the canopy. Grass-suffocating materials such as plastic, root cloth, or woven mats are not permitted.

Which campsites are suitable for small children?

Almost every camping field has a playground, allowing you to keep a close eye on your young children. The Kluivert and Spriet camping fields are located far from the water, making them particularly suitable for families with young children.

Are pets allowed?

Yes, a maximum of two dogs are allowed per camping pitch at our park. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times. Dogs are allowed in a number of accommodations. Cats are not allowed at the park at any time. 

Are fire pits permitted?

No, fire pits are not allowed at the campsite.

Where can I buy gas cylinders?

You can exchange gas bottles for a fee at the reception desk during reception opening hours. Please ask our receptionists for the current prices.

Are party tents permitted?

A maximum of one party tent per camping pitch is permitted, with a maximum size of 4x4 meters, provided that it does not cause any nuisance to other campers and is placed on your own camping pitch.

Where can I find the chemical toilet?

A chemical toilet is available at each sanitary building.

Camper parking spaces

What amenities are included with a motorhome parking space?

Each motorhome pitch is fully equipped with:

  • Private power connection (10A)
  • Water and sewer connection
  • CAI (television)
  • Free showers in our modern sanitary building

You also get free access to the Jonas en de Walvis swimming paradise!

Are the RV sites located directly on the water?

Yes! Some of our RV sites are located directly on Bergumermeer lake. Here you can enjoy a beautiful view of the water, with boats passing by and plenty of water sports. Prefer to be close to the facilities? That's also possible — you can choose your ideal spot yourself.

Are dogs allowed on the RV sites?

Of course! Dogs are welcome at our RV sites, provided they are kept on a leash. Want to enjoy the Frisian outdoors with your four-legged friend? You can do just that with us.

How big are the RV sites and are they paved?

The RV sites are spacious (approx. 80-100 m²) and fully paved. Ideal for a stable and comfortable parking spot, regardless of the weather. There is also plenty of room for your awning or outdoor seating area.

Can I also stay on a camping pitch with a camper van?

Yes, this is permitted provided that your motorhome is no longer than 9 meters and/or weighs no more than 4 tons. At certain locations, we can make an exception to this rule, but only after consultation by telephone.

Fishing

What types of fish can I catch in Bergumermeer?

  • Carp, pike, bream, ide, and roach swim in the lake.

Do I need a fishing license to fish in Bergumermeer?

  • Yes, a fishing license is required. Individual weekly licenses are available at the reception desk. 

Can I buy a fishing license at the reception desk?

Yes, that is possible.

May I fish at night on Lake Bergumermeer?

How many rods am I allowed to use for fishing?

As stipulated in the fishing license, a maximum of two rods.

Can I bring fish and eat it?

No, it is not permitted to take caught fish with you.

What bait works best on Bergumermeer lake?

This depends on the type of fish and the season. Boilies and tiger nuts are effective for carp, while artificial bait such as spinnerbaits and shads are effective for predatory fish.

Can I rent a fishing boat on Lake Bergumermeer?

Yes, you can rent a fishing boat at Bergumermeer Holiday Park.

Dogs

Are dogs welcome at Bergumermeer Holiday Park?

Yes, dogs are welcome! You can bring your dog to various camping pitches as well as to a number of our vacation homes and lodges. Always indicate when making your reservation that you will be bringing a dog.

Are dogs allowed to run free in the holiday park?

At the park, we ask that you keep your dog on a leash and close to your accommodation as much as possible, so that everyone feels comfortable and safe. There are several off-leash areas and special dog walking routes in the surrounding area.

Are there any walking trails in the area that are suitable for dogs?

Absolutely! There are beautiful walking areas around the park, such as De Alde Feanen National Park and the Burgumer Mar. Here you will find various dog walking routes, ranging from short walks to longer hikes.

Are dogs allowed on the park's beach?

No, dogs are not allowed on the beaches of the holiday park.
We have created a separate dog swimming area that can be used for this purpose.
